Ooohhhh my goodness.  Los tacos fueron hermosos.  JAJA!  Nunca he comido tacos como eso.
No tuvimos camas.

Summer 2017

Y’all—summer is in full swing at our house. So much has been happening and I am literally exhausted.  I have wanted to post pictures of our house and I just have ZERO time.  I’m not going to write about our house just yet.  I’m just writing to say what’s been going on the last few weeks.

AGGIE:  Welcome to our family, Aggie!! On June 9th we got to bring this sweet little girl home.  We were originally going to name her Nena, but I just love Aggie so much that I couldn’t help but name her that.  She is such a good puppy!  D and I joke all the time that she came prepotty-trained.   She was born on April 22nd and was the first one born.  I picked her out literally the next day.  I wanted to have part of our dog Miga (my parent's dog that we got while living in Queretaro, Mexico) and where she's my mom and dads dog, I was able to pick her out quick! Dev and I have wanted a darker girl and she was the ONLY one.  So I didn’t have to wait to see what their personalities were.  We just picked!  Boy did we pick good!! She’s such a little love.  She’s so big now.  Two or three days after we got her, we let her sleep inside cause it was a big ol’ rain storm!  She didn’t potty in the house at all.  We were so proud of her!!  She doesn’t go potty in her dog run either.  (Devin named her dog run the “Dogmahal” cause it’s so ginormous.)  She starts her puppy classes on the 25th of July.  She already knows how to sit and she walks pretty good with her leash, once you get going on the walk.  She loves all of her toys and is just the happiest little puppy you’ve ever met!! WE LOVE HER!

GRANDMA KAREN: Quick update.  She’s doing so much better!! Devin and I went down and saw her on July 2nd.  She was as spunky as ever! I walk in the door and she says “hi sweetie pie!” and then she sees Devin and her face lights up and she says “hi boyfriend!”.  Haha it was so cute.  Right before we got there, she had her catheter put in.  I guess her male nurse did it.  She was kind of weirded out by that, but then I reminded her that a male delivered all of her babies and she was fine after.  (If anyone reads this, don’t judge please.  She’s 75 and has lived alone for A LOT of years.  She’s a little old fashioned with things – no, she does not hate male nurses.  Haha) We got to eat lunch with her.  Man she’s so spoiled there!  They bring her DELICIOUS looking food! I was super jealous of my freaking $8.00 salad that I paid for..her food looked MUCH better.  Also – she gets to come home on the 15th of July!!  She’s moving in with mom and dad again.  This time it will be permanent.  I am literally so grateful to my Heavenly Father for how things turned out for her.  I think this was a big wake up call for her and for my family and I have a feeling it’s going to be good.  Also, Aunt Val (my grandma’s sister) passed away on June 28, 2017.  She was the youngest sibling.

FOURTH OF JULY: What a lovely day off!  The only thing that sucked about the 4th of July this year, was I had to go back to work the next day.  It was rough.  Devin and I really didn’t do anything.  We had a small barbeque with both of our families and just enjoyed each other’s company.  Every time I have a day off like that, and I get to enjoy it with Devin, I am more grateful that he’s all mine.  I just love him to pieces!!

SUMMER TIME: Ok… so when I tell you that I have just been so busy, IT IS NOT A JOKE.  Hay season this year hit us like a ton of bricks.  D was gone to the farm CONSTANTLY.  Especially right after work.  Which is fine!  I’m about 99% sure he loves being up on the farm more than he loves me. Haha—jk.  How can he not love me the most?! Anyways – YES! My life is hectic right now.  Because it is so blasted hot outside, my garden is growing like crazy.  My peas are out of control.  We’re picking them almost every other day.  I’m literally going to tear them out tonight because I can’t handle picking anymore.  Also, while my peas are out of control, my raspberries decided it was time to join the party.  We have been picking raspberries at least once a day.  It. Is. Insane.  I am so tired.  I’m not planning on making raspberry jam this year, as I still have quite a bit from last year.  I am planning on canning some raspberry syrup, and finding other ways to use raspberries.  So if any of y’all know raspberry recipes, please help a girl out.

Yesterday (July 8th) was one hectic day!! D and I were up at 6 AM to help with the cows in Drylake.  Now that the hay is done, we're moving on to breeding season.  Devin's grandma and grandpa had to be in the temple, so we were a couple people short!  Usually when we have to put cows in the chute, Devin and Derik are working with Jedd on getting them to the chute.  Grandpa pulls the chute shut, I lock the chute and depending on if LaDawn is there or not, I'll fill the shot and grandpa gives said shot while Jedd does what he needs to do on the back end..  So yesterday, Ladawn filled shots, Devin gave the shots and pulled the chute.  If D was needed to get a stubborn cow in then I would pull the chute.  Really Devin and I were just running around trying to cover each other when it was needed.  After the cows I ran over to my parents and spent most of the day there doing a garage sale for my grandma.  Following our adventure over there, D and I picked more raspberries and stayed up till 11:00 PM canning raspberry syrup.  Let me tell you, I was EXHAUSTED.  I don't think I've ever been so tired in my entire life.  BUT I am grateful for the LITTLE knowledge that I have to be able to can some things. :)

I wish I could go into more detail of the things we’ve done this summer!  But I’m just trying to post this post as soon as possible.   I love summertime and there is no better place to live than good ol’ Cache Valley!
